MLTSS Association Responds to MACPAC June 2020 Report to Congress

On June 15, the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) released the June 2020 Report to Congress on Medicaid and CHIP. This report contains two chapters on integration – Chapter 1 is a review of the state of integration and provides some descriptive statistics on the dual eligible population and the different integrated models, and Chapter 2 includes recommendations to CMS to issue sub-regulatory guidance to create an exception to the special enrollment period for dually eligible beneficiaries eligible for Medicare-Medicaid Plans, and to Congress to provide additional federal funds to enhance state capacity to develop expertise in Medicare and to implement integrated care models. These recommendations are aligned with the MLTSS Association’s integration proposal.
